"Pelt is a substance I created as a way of exploring textural and sensorial processes of becoming in material. Copper and silver are slowly grown into the moss-like plushness of velvet through electroforming. The word 'pelt' incorporates references to the gravity of a warm animal body or a sun-drenched blanket of moss, but also in more general terms, something growing, fertile and alive."
